At Aboveline, we were delighted to be a part of one of the very first exhibitions since the Covid restrictions were lifted back in July. Our team talks about their experience at the show and what the future of exhibitions holds. It’s also the first collaboration we’ve had with our clients during this year to create a dynamic and visionary stand that reflects their branding.

For almost 18 months, exhibitions and events felt like a thing of the past. Networking and business conferences came to a halt and many companies and show organisers were skeptical as to whether we’d ever see large shows again.  During the pandemic, there was talk of organisers taking exhibitions online rather than opening their venues to crowds as they found it was a safer option and more cost-efficient.

Now we’re mid-way through 2021, businesses are getting prepared to either exhibit or attend a show out of curiosity to whether the industry is alive and kicking.

Exclusively Housewares was one of the first major exhibitions to open since the pandemic. It’s the UK’s premier showcase of preparation, cook, table, and serve ware, which attracts key buyers from all sectors of the housewares market including major grocery and department stores, garden centres, and internet retailers.

The show went ahead on 24th – 25th August at the Business Design Centre, London, Exclusively Shows were confident with the Covid guidelines they created for attendees and exhibitors.

Louise, our Project Manager says, “Like many other events, NHS Covid passes needed to be presented with proof of being vaccinated and a negative Covid test which was easily obtained. The organisers gave concise guidelines surrounding Covid including using face masks where possible, use hand sanitizer at stations or on stands, and keeping in mind safe social distancing.

I believe this has helped encourage businesses and individuals to attend and exhibit at shows safely and to do their part in helping reduce any risks.”

Highlights of the show!

We’ve listed the highlights of Exclusively Housewares that restore confidence back into the events sector.

  • Footfall. We witnessed a great number of visitors at the show without overcrowded food halls, conference rooms, or stands.
  • Value of visitors. The visitors who did attend were driven by business deals and networking.
  • Atmosphere. Visitors and exhibitors were in high spirits with a lot of positivity surrounding the show. Some networkers had not seen each other face-to-face in over 18 months so the atmosphere was encouraging.
  • Exhibitors. All stands were occupied by businesses which was an optimistic sign of things to follow.

A bright future!

We are confident that exhibitions and events are heading in the right direction.

Louise says, “Following Exclusively Housewares, we are confident that businesses will start to plan ahead for shows in the next 2 years. There haven’t been any concerns surrounding a reduction in footfall, the visitors who attended were there for business networking and conducting deals with wholesalers. We’re looking forward to speaking to our clients and hearing positive feedback surrounding the show. We’re very hopeful for the upcoming events we’ll be attending in the coming months.”
